Superkids acknowledge and incorporate local community events and different cultural / festivals all year round.

Our activity-themed weeks are jam-packed with enjoyable, thrilling, and captivating games, activities, and outings. Activities range from baking delectable pastries to crazy bouncy castles. Every day is different from the last, accommodating the interests and skills of every child. Children get to enjoy an in-house movie experience while snacking on a delicious hot or cold snack. Our outdoor spaces at St Mary's have two playgrounds and sports field that can accommodate a variety of sports and activities, including volleyball, football, hockey, basketball, and much more! While indoors, the children can work on their artistic creations and play a range of floor and table games.

Superkids provide a Breakfast and After School club for children aged 4 -11 years old who attend St. Mary's Catholic Primary School. During the school holidays (except Christmas), we provide a holiday playscheme available to children from other schools.

Price:

  • £6.40 per morning.

Once you drop your child with us in the hall and they are in need of breakfast, we will escort them down to the studio where we offer a wide choice of healthy breakfasts to get them ready for their day. This includes: porridge, multigrain cereals, branflakes or weetabix, toast with a selection of spreads: butter, cheese or jam. There is a choice of strawberry, raspberry or apricot yogurts and fruit is available. With milk and water on offer to drink.

Each week we alternate the bagels and jam with bread muffins and crumpets. We help our children to have a positive and healthy relationship with their food, by supporting children to self serve, having a balanced breakfast choice, using spreads and building their independence. Key stage 2 children (Year 3 to 6) use their own toaster for breads, muffins, crumpets and bagels, supervised.

The children also have an extra breakfast meal each week which can include: Boiled eggs, ham pitta's and beans on toast. As a treat, children are offered croissants on the last week of half term.

We serve breakfast until 8:25am so children have sufficient time to eat breakfast before we take them to class.

Once the children have eaten, we bring them back up to the main hall for a choice of group/team games, drawing and all our other after school club activities. By 8:40am, all children are taken to their classrooms.

After School Club Information
Opening time: 3.15pm - 6pm
Price

  • £14.25 per afternoon.
  • Ad-hoc or one off sessions will be charged at £15.25

The team collect reception to year 3 children from their teachers, while years 4, 5 and 6 come to the hall by themselves. Once all children are accounted for and signed in, we have circle time, which enables us to inform the children of the days activities, children's choice and snack. First group of children are taken down for snack by 3:45 and the second group by 4:05-4:15. Children who are at other school clubs are collected and taken down for snack by 4:30.

During the after school club, children can participate in a range of fun and freely-chosen activities aimed at the development and stimulation of children.

The St. Mary's team support children to become as independent as possible, from hanging their own coats, serving and making their own breakfast/snacks. Children can enjoy a varied activity programme in the hall. Our activities include indoor and outdoor sports, team games, dancing, wii dance, table tennis, construction toys, puppets and dolls, football table, pool table, dressing up and role play, pop-up tunnels, daily arts and crafts activities, cooking, book corner, homework & quiet area.

We have a secure outdoor play space and garden. Outdoor games include races, scooters, skipping, hoola hoops.

We regularly schedule special events, festivals and themed activities which encourage the children's creativity and imagination and enable them to participate in celebrations from other cultures. Support is provided for children wishing to complete their homework at the after school club. Staff and children work together to produce a weekly timetable of suggested activities, themed weeks and children may request additional equipment during the session to enhance their play experience.
